    3. Dear All: Regarding the discussion of the book "Pathfinders of Jefferson County Ohio" which was taken from the Ohio "Archaeological and Historical Publications" Volume 6, it appears that family names mention in volume 6 were not adequate, so the same publication, Volume 8 was issued to correct that. I have a xeroxed copy of Volume 8 in which the introduction states that "This supplement to the Pathfinders of Jefferson County (a paper on the early settlements of Eastern Ohio, inspired by the celebration of the centennial of establishment of Jefferson County, August 24, 25 and 26, 1897), was commenced with the view of correcting errors in the main publication, issued by the State Historical Society (Vol. 6)................" The copy that I have is reproduced from an original in Sons of the Revolution Library, Glendale CA. There are 160 pages to this "correction", but I have two pages on each page. So if anyone is interested in this, I would be willing to have it copied (probably about 5 cents per page). 3. If this work is not under copyright (anything published before 1923 is in the public domain), why don't you submit it to the Jefferson County genweb archives. That way it would be available to ANYONE searching the archives for the county. I always encourage folks on my own rootsweb gen lists to send ANY factual info of this sort there - the idea being to get the most information to the most people, either now or later. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jane Pinkerton" <jane.pinkerton@gte.net> To: <OHJEFFER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, September 29, 2003 1:55 PM Subject: Re: [OHJEFFER] "Pathfinders" book > Dear All: > > Regarding the discussion of the book "Pathfinders of Jefferson County > Ohio" which was taken from the Ohio "Archaeological and Historical > Publications" Volume 6, it appears that family names mention in volume > 6 were not adequate, so the same publication, Volume 8 was issued to > correct that. 3. Jane, I discovered the :"Pathfinders of Jefferson Co." in the books which were at our public library. I found the names of ancestors I was looking for. Others who want to read that chapter in Vol 8 might find it in their public library in the genealogical section.
