I am going to submit my family interest again: Joseph Lewis m Elizabeth Smith July 12, 1795 Place unknown Eli Lewis b. 1796 William b. 1798 Mary b. 1800 Eliza b. 1804 (in Ohio) Joseph Lewis operated a tavern in Steubenville until his death in January 1807 leaving a widow and 4 children above..Records show G. Henning appointed Guardian for the minor children listed as Eli-13 years; William-11years; Mary- 9 years; and Eliza-5 years.. The widow Elizabeth Smith Lewis married James Smiley on Feb. 28, 1811 in Jefferson County., OH . Mary Lewis m. James Chambers on November 7, 1816 and remained in Jefferson County, OH until her death in 1887.. The two boys, Eli and William migrated to Alabama in 1825.. We have been unable to find any record of James Smiley and Elizabeth after 1811 or where they died and are buried... Any help would be appreciated.. I had made a trip to Steubenville several years ago to do some searching (I am a novice)..Joseph Lewis was buried in a cemetary in the town of Steubenville which supposedly was moved later but could not find his new resting place, although we were told that they were moved to the Union Cemetary...
