Hello, this is my first post to this list. I'm looking for additional information on my Wheaton and McGinnis ancestors. I'll outline what I have here. My Wheaton family started in Harrison County, OH (as far back as I've gotten) and moved to Steubenville. Jasper E. Wheaton married Catherine Bernadette McGinnis in Steubenville in 1909. Jasper had previously been married to Anna Adelia Custer in 1900, with one son, Paul Custer Wheaton. Jasper and Catherine had four sons: Ambrose Joseph, Gregory Michael (my grandfather), a living son and William Grief. Jasper's parents were James Wheaton and Martha Bradly, I know very little about them. Catherine's parents were Michael McGinnis and Mary Lyons. I also have very little on them, and what I do have is conflicting. I know Catherine had at least eight siblings (possibly 10): Elizabeth, Martha, Sabina/Sabrina, Anna, Harry, Frank, Edward and George. There may have been two additional sisters who became nuns and were known as Sister Inez and Sister Rosario. I believe Michael and Mary came from Ireland, though I do not know if they were Irish, Scots-Irish or what. Any help anyone can offer with this mess would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
