Tom, Of course I can't be sure where Harry Ewing may have worked, but according to my 1871 atlas of Jeff. Co., the closest brickworks to Irondale was the Hammondsville Coal Fire and Brick Co. It's not clear where the factory was as this label is placed on land both north and south of Hammondsville. The part north of Hammondsville shows coal so perhaps that was just a mining operation, not sure. Incidentally there is a James Ewing listed for Irondale. Most of the town is owned by Morgan and Hunter which is, not surprisingly, an iron factory. Keep in mind that Columbiana Co. which is just north of there, also had lots of potteries.
