I would strongly suggest you check into several different archival methods: Professional photography studios have materials, de-acidifying spray, frames to keep out ultraviolet rays etc. another suggestion is check on line with "archival companies" and there are various containers for such documents. Where you store your document and how can be VERY important to its preservation! To muddy the water a bit more, some years ago I did work on an early Bucks Co. (PA) family of KROESEN (sometimes KREWSON). They were originally Dutch, and had been in Staten Island, NY in the 1600's. A very interesting bunch, as I remember. Ken McFarland Avella, PA
I found several different spellings that I imagine are interchangeable with Cruson... this was in the index from the Spencer Ledger, on 1804-08 Steubenville; Cook and Crewson - Merchants Market St., Philadelphia Crusin - Garrat; John (indicating that these 2 men had done business with the Spencer Mercantile Establishment in Steubenville. the 1850 Steubenville directory lists; Cruson, Wm. Need parents of Hannah/Johannah ODELL (ca 1826-90) who married ca 1844 Moses L. RISDON (ca 1821-94). Both buried in Mound Cem., Tiltonsville. Moses was probably a son of Samuel RISDON. Also interested in finding the parents of Achsah Ann REYNOLDS (b ca 1817) who married 14 Mar 1839 Jeff. Co. William STROUD (ca 1818-81). Would like to make contact with anyone working on any of these families, to pool resources. Sharing really works. Ken McFarland Avella, PA

You can buy archival sleeves, to keep documents in...they will preserve them without damage. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Thomas, Laura K" <Laura.K.Thomas@usa.xerox.com> To: <OHJEFFER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, January 30, 2003 9:25 AM Subject: [OHJEFFER] preserving documents > I wanted to know if anyone had suggestions of how to preserve the > original marriage certificate of my great grandparents. Hi Ann, Some of my early ancestors who lived in the Mt. Pleasant/Adena area went to Cadiz, Harrison Co., OH to marry. Steubenville was just too far of a trip to apply for a marriage license. And don't overlook Harrison Co., OH for that early marriage. And don't overlook east across the Ohio River. These Ohio Valley residents left their paper trail everywhere. Julia
I wanted to know if anyone had suggestions of how to preserve the original marriage certificate of my great grandparents. It is from 1890 and has been in a cardboard tube in a cedar chest at my moms. I want to know what the best method of preserving it would be. It is such a pretty document and I really would love for my great grandchildren to see it one day.

What I was referring to were the genweb county sites, one for each county in the country.....to locate them ALL, visit; http://www.usgenweb.com/statelinks-table.html AS they have all been created by different folks, and there are no 'guidelines' to follow, the information included at each county site will be different...but, most will give info on where to find what within that county.. Depends on the county....I suggest you join the county rootsweb site for whatever counties you're interested in and inquire there, of others who have been researching the area...... and, visit their county sites. These are all different, of course, but many give this sort of information. There are no hard and fast ruled for records that apply to ALL counties in any state. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pat Wick" <pgwick@1st.net> To: <OHJEFFER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 26, 2003 9:04 AM Subject: [OHJEFFER] birth/death records > Where would I look in Pa. for birth and death records. > > Pat > > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > > >

The Missouri Birth and Death records are online and can be found at the following link http://www.sos.state.mo.us/archives/resources/birthdeath/
