    1. [OHJEFFER] New Salem (Annapolis) townlot #102, 1812, CARREL to GANS
    2. Eric
    3. Hi Listers, My ancestors Philip CARREL and his wife Mary [?] sold lot #102 in New Salem, Ohio to a John Gans (Gantz) in 1812. I cannot find any records of Carrells buying any property in Jefferson County, and so think they might have inherited it. Mary [?] may have inherited it. Does anyone have any records of the early deeds in New Salem, now Annapolis, prior to 1812? Eric

MessageCan anyone here help Patricia? if so, please reply directly to her. roepod@comcast.net Carol ----- Original Message ----- From: Randy Roe To: cmontrose@beol.net Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2003 3:59 AM Subject: looking for my great great grandmother dear carol, my name is Patricia. I have followed my maternal lineage and have reached a point in which I need help. The 1860 and 1870 census (Mt Pleasant TWP, Jefferson Co.) shows my ancestor (Sarah S. Heaton) married to Amos Heaton. She was born in Pennsylvania around 1807. She was married/died in Ohio. Her marriage would have occurred approximately in 1840 and her death would probably have been prior to 1900. I need to find her maiden name and was hoping one of these records would reveal this information. Can you help? thank you for your time, Patricia roepod@comcast.net

    2. The web site recommended by Jean Scarlott last week is truly excellent. It works for the whole US. You can just click and watch county formation in a state to see the counties change between censuses and do the same with state boundaries on the federal map. Thanks, Jean. http://www.negenealogy.com/

    1. [OHJEFFER] THOMAS HAMILTON
    2. John Lindsay
    3. I am in need of an obituary, or any other information that might be available regarding Thomas Hamilton of Smithfield Township, Jefferson County. He lived from 1800 to c.1885. He is buried in the Presbyterian Cemetery in Adena. He was born in Pennsylvania, but apparently came to Ohio at an early age. He outlived three wives, including Effy Gourley and Mary Polly McLaughlin and to my knowledge never left the area for any period of time. I am especially interested in parents and offspring if anyone has any information. He was living in Adena in 1880, and other than the grave marker, that is the last information I have. Thanks. John William Lindsay
