Hi, I forwarded this message to the list from ROOTSWEB. Those of you with hotmail accounts may want to resend any messages to the list for the specified time frames. No bad vibes with hotmail!!! This has happened with other services in the past. Just a temporary glitch!! Terri FORWARDED MESSAGE A couple of nights ago, Hotmail's servers went crazy and started sending us duplicate and triplicate copies of everything they sent us. We were receiving dozens of extra copies of their mail every second. That much mail can kill a mail server. In order to protect RootsWeb, we were forced to reject all mail coming from Hotmail for about fifteen hours. That means that between 1am and 6pm on December 3, anything sent from a Hotmail user to rootsweb.com was just discarded. Even with this protective measure in place, the mail server crashed twice overnight trying to deal with the barrage of Hotmail messages. This message is just to let you know in case your subscribers ask about disappearing mail, or in case any listowners are Hotmail users themselves and are wondering. Next week's RootsWeb Review will mention this problem, so there's no need to forward this message to your lists. -- +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Researching HUBBARD,LANAGHAN,JAMES,MENZEL,HAMROCK,GEARY, My Family Tree http://www.geocities.com/heartland/1261/family.htm Jefferson Co. Pam, I checked the Tombstone Inscription Book by Esther Powell and there is: William Harris (1837-1912) and Eliza Harris (1836-1906). I hopes this helps. Hello Dale, Email him again if you still have his Email address from the first message. Never know if a young one at home deleted the message or if there was a glitch. This second notice only had phone numbers from the contacts. Wishing you success, Julia
Ohio death index http://www.ohiohistory.org/dindex/search.cfm Has a Susan Hamilton that died 4-17-37 in Belmont County, just south of Jefferson County...since children living in southern part of Jefferson...could be her. there are others but in counties further away. A second newspaper article I received today seems to be from a paper local to the Mt. Pleasant/Dillionville area. This is the notice of the marriage between Elizabeth Hamilton and Private Joseph KESSLER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kessler, Sr., 1049 Lincoln Ave (city not given). Elizabeth was the daughter of Marshall Hamilton. Marshall was the son of Andrew Jackson and Susan Hamilton. Dr. James K. LEITCH of Second United Presbyterian Church officiated. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT PERIOD DR. LEITCH SERVED AS PASTOR OF THIS CHURCH? The nuptials were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C.J. GERKER, 1522 Ridge Ave. (city not given). One of the guests was NORMAN WORLEY of Pittsburgh and another was JOHN HAMILTON of Carrollton. Would appreciate more information on any of these families. Thanks, Connie Beachy

Just new to this list but not a lurker.. Just today I was sent a death notice for the wife of Andrew Jackson Hamilton. This was Susan Huff Hamilton. There is no date given except for April 17th. Bacon Ridge Cemetery is located in Section 25 of Ross Township, Jefferson County, on County Road 59. My husband, Fred Sutton, grew up in that area and has many relatives buried in Bacon Ridge Cemetery. Also, one of his uncles, Jesse Sutton, married a Mary Scarlet, b. 8/3/1899, d. 4/17/1969. Is there any connection with Jean Scarlott? Claire Sutton (chsutton11@aol.com)
