    2. Barb, Yes, the Veterans' Hospital is in Allegheny County. Probably the hospital doesn't have it, but it should be at the court house in Pittsburgh. We have found that our local (area) Veterans' Administration can also get death certificates for family members. Check your phone book and give them a call. They can often make the contact and they have always been very nice to us. I don't know the year, but first found him listed in 1850 Mt. Pleasant Twp census. It states his father, John MCHUGH was born in Ireland. I have since located his headstone: b. 1779 d. 9 Jul 1851. I would like to find exactly when John MCHUGH came to USA. He had these children as far as I know: Dennis, William T. and Alexander MCHUGH If anyone can help, I would certainly appreciate anything concerning the MCHUGH name Thank You Mrs. Barbara McHugh Beranek

    3. Hello, Naturalizations from Jefferson Co., OH 1818-1879 Court Records Naturalizations Records Jefferson Co., Ohio 1823-1828 The above two books are indexed. That list on the JCC OGS webpage is so long, not sure there are other naturalization records in book form. And to add to the confusion this is the Microfilm available which has different dates than the books: Naturalizations 1863-1896, 1854-1881, 1823-1828 One would have to visit the Ohio Room to view either. I'm not sure the books are currently in print, perhaps someone has a copy, otherwise you would have to write to Sandy Day per the JCC OGS webpage. Julia

    2. I'm looking for information on my g-grandfather, Jesse Samuel Craig, who was born November 1, 1864 in Jefferson Co. Ohio. All I know of his parents are that they are Samuel and Maroa Craig. I would like to find out more about them. Also, I believe my g-grandmother's parents came from Jefferson Co. as well--Samuel Deriar and Laura Taylor. Laura's parents were John and Althetia Taylor. The census says Samuel's father was born in Holland. All of these people ended up in Erie Co., Pa., but their origin is a mystery. Diana Fitzsimons

    3. My grandmother's brother, Fred William Blum, was born in Summit, Fayette Co., PA on 9 March 1886 and died 30 November 1939 in Steubenville. Are there any Blum descendants still in this area? The birth and death date are the only info I have on Fred. (some of the family used the name Bloom) It may have been his daughter that was killed when her house exploded in Tiltonsville. This had to be in the 30s or 40s. Does anyone remember this? She and her mother went shopping in Wheeling and when they returned home the accident occurred. My uncle remembered only this much of the story, no names. He thought Fred Blum (Bloom) may also have had two sons.
