    3. Hello All, The Mingo Jct., OH Time Capsule contents now include the WW I Roll of Honor at this Jefferson County Chapter, OGS address: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohjefogs/HonorRoll.htm As you look over this list of young men who were part of the new century's melting pot, keep in mind this is just one small community's contribution. So many men - from such a small area of Jefferson Co., and we haven't any information how many of them did not return to their Ohio Valley families. Exactly 82 years ago today (19 Feb. 1918) 700,000 men died in just one battle which was covered in an ABC news presentation on Friday evening. You can read more about this War at their site on the www: "Fear and Filth in the Trenches" http://abcnews.go.com/century/feature/wwi_990219.html In remembrance of our Veterans, Jefferson County Chapter, OGS http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohjefogs Julia A. 2. I am interested in finding history on the William Warren family who moved into Jefferson Co., fom Pennsylvania -- I beleive. In the 1850 census there are several William Warren's listed -- the one in Cross Creek Twp, is the one that I beleive is my relative. He is married to a Rebbecca (McCauchey) and have children -- Issac, Harriett, George, and Simon listed . These are siblings of my Ggrandfather, I am sure. My Ggrandfather was a William also, born in 1817 in Ohio, and by this time was married and moved to Hancock Co, Ohio. He was married abt 1845 to Rachell McConnell, but I have doubts about this information. I wonder if he married Rachel later, as a second wife. Any information on where this family came from or any other family history would be appreciated. This has been quite a chase, as there were several William Warrens in Jefferson Co, and one other was married to a Rebbecca. Ford Warren Fvwarren@aol.com

    3. Edie, In the 1871 Atlas of Jeff. Co. there is a J. Irons listed as owning property in Cross Creek Twp. There are several Lee's. In Island Creek Twp. there is K., S. and J. Lee (3 entries). In the town of Smithfield (Smithfield Twp.) there is M., G., W. and O., and E (4 entries). In Wayne Twp. there is M. Lee. In Ross Twp. there is T. Lee. Perhaps there are descendants here.
