    3. The place you mention is Cave In The Rock State Park. The movie How The West Was Won was also shot on location there. In that area there is a lot of History on the Old Ohio River. The place is near Elizabeth Town IL. John Foster

    3. This was posted on the Marshall Co., WVA Mail List. Thought somebody here might be interested. FROM: OHIO-VALLEY-L@rootsweb.com The History Channel is showing a program called "The River Pirates" this Thursday and repeat on Friday. Check your local listings for time. In Search Of History. Take a ride down the Ohio River to a place known as Cave-in Rock, where Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky border. There you'll meet some of the earliest frontier outlaws who preyed on settlers traveling the river to the west. Samuel Mason, who converted the cavern into a tavern, bordello, and gambling house, is profiled, among others. 1. Testing
    2. J or M Hutson
    3. Just writing this to let people know that if someone wants to know if they are on a mail list, I would think that they would know if their email is working on that list if they receive their test email back through the mail list. If this isn't correct, please let me and everyone else know. If it is correct, then no one has to respond to the "Test" email. Save a lot of extra email to read for those people that receive a lot. Mary

    1. Surnames in Jefferson Cty.
    2. Janet Bell
    3. I am looking for several families in Jefferson Cty. Here is the list: Bell- Descendants of Francis and Elizabeth Bell. THey came in 1804 to Wayne Twp. Jefferson Cty. I have the following line and am now trying to fill in the rest. Their son Francis married Jane Irwin; Their son , Jackson marr Maria Blackburn ( I amhaving finding them in the 1880 census ? Their is suppose to be more children but I can not find them with them in a census. My father in law remembers having a Aunt jane who was married to a ROWLAND leaving in Mt.Pleasant They were suppose to be a Bell he thought. Any help with this.? ) JAckson son Francis MArion "MAme" marr. Debby BUSBY. Now I have all their children family except for Clara. I am looking at all the wives line now too. My mother in law family is the TANLEY family. I have found William who was a Vet of the CIVIL WAR. I have his records from that but I can not locate his father .He was suppose to have been born in PORTLAND STATION ( RAyland ) But I can not find a TANLEY in the census for 1840. HE married a JARVIS. Saddly he was killed in a mining accident and left a family of 10 .Of those children only 2 lived to be married and one of them died young with one of his children and the other son died taking the teacher's horse tothe river to get it water. HE killed him.. So my mother in law's siblings are the only remaining TANLEY's in this line. THere is also FREBOLT"S TUTTLE < GAMBLE hooked up to this line. My family I am looking for the FETTY AND PRATT FAMILY. THEy came here in the late 1880's THe FETTY "S came from WETZEL AND TYLER CTY. W.V. I have most of them. BUt if you have any infor I would like to here from you. Thank you. JAn.
