    2. Bobbie, there are lots and lots of ROSS names in the index. However your ROSS/THOMPSON marriage in 1927 occured too late as this book was published in 1880. Beryl

    3. HI: Re subscribing to the list after a hiatus of almost one year. I am researching the surnames RICHARDS and AKIN in Jefferson Co. Samuel RICHARDS (parents unknown) married Martha AKIN, daughter of John AKIN and Anne ? in 1813 in Jeff. Co. By 1820 both families had moved on to Wayne and Holmes Co OH. Any info welcome. Also searching for any information on the RUCKMAN family. Especially ELI & JANETTA RUCKMAN. Believe he was deceased by 1900 and Janetta (a/k/a Jenetta, Jane, Ann) deceased by 1910. Whereabouts of graves or death info needed.

    2. Hi! I was wondering if in the book there was any information on the William Elmer Wells family in the Island Creek area? Also looking for the John Shrocks Porter family. His father was John Porter and he came straight to Jefferson County from Ireland. We are trying to find out who William Elmer Wells father is, we think it is Bart Martin Wells. Anything would be helpful! Thankyou Beryl. Sincerely Linda Andrews

    1. [ohjeffer] Judy Warth's request for Richards-Akin information
    2. Judy,I wish I had some information for you, but I don't. I just started this genealogical search myself. I was born in Steubenville in 1957. My dad was a native Steubenvillian-born in 1922 @ my mother was born in Sydney,Australia in 1920. That's Robert J. Owings @ the fomer Dulcie E. Surrey, respectively. I'm doing intense research on both sides. Surnames on the paternal side include Owings,Bates,Campbell, & Forsha. Names on the maternal side include Surrey & Fencham. If you or anyone you know at the site can help me,please do. And I'll certainly do the same for you. Happy holidays,Judy. T.J.O.

    1. [ohjeffer] In need of help
    2. Hi All, I am in need of suggestions, I have not been able to find any of my family although I know there were several births and at least one death in Toronto, Ohio, Jefferson County, We have found some on 1900 census in Knox township. I have checked the Ohio births & deaths 1867-1908 as well as marriage records 1866- 1892 Micro film I brought in at the LDS. I have checked the naturalization & declaration of intention, I keep comming up blank. If someone could give me some ideas as to where I should be looking I would be most greatful. Frank, John, Mary, Amelia and their mother Barbara PLETZ immigrated to Ohio in the mid 1880's to Toronto. Frank married Ludmelia RANKEL and had 6 children there. 1885 & 1895 John married Mary SOPKO and had 5 children there between 1889 & 1901 Where do I look for these records. They would have been baptised Roman Catholic. I have not found any other micro film through the LDS for Jefferson County. thank you in advance for all suggestions. Sharon Pletz Canada

    3. You don't really need a whole day to search this site. If you go to simple search and insert a surname, it will digitally link you to every reference in every book, in about a second. ha. Several months ago, this site only have about 60 books on-line so someone is doing alot of work! Don of Dallas
