    1. [ohjeffer] John Potts; Potts Genealogy
    2. T. Grant Maple
    3. There is a "Potts Family Genealogy" by Thomas Maxwell Potts, 1901, which has references to John Potts, aide to Gen. George Washington during the Rev. War and grandfather of Gen. Benjamin F. Potts, Gov. of MT Terr. appointed by Pres. Grant; 1870; served as Gov. 1870-1883. Perehaps the information on John Potts will is given there. T. Grant Maple [email protected]

    3. >http://www.usigs.org/library/military/links/index.htm The WWI site is current constructing a new database. It looks like it will be very helpful when completed. Meanwhile, I'm going to check some of the other databases, which also look very good. Thanks, June, for responding to my question.

    1. [ohjeffer] time-wasting messages...
    2. I just sent two examples of short personal thank you type messages I just received in my in-box from people on our list--they did not seem to come thru correctly so I am writing again to try to clarify what I was writing about. My point was that we, I thought, had all agreed not to send these personal messages thru the list so as not to clutter up everyone's mailboxes. I am talking about the kind of message that has absolutely no meaning to anyone other then the recipient. Such as: "Ok thanks, Mildred", etc. etc. Please.... when we receive 40 or more e-mails a day, it is not fair that we have to wade through all this meaningless stuff. Let's all try to be more thoughtful, please, and send personal messages directly to the person, not to everyone on the list! Happy New Year.

Any help would be appreciated in finding the parents of William A. Livingston. We suspect that he had a sister Mary Livingston who married into the Delaney family, and possibly a brother John of the same county. Best wishes, Pam Ingle
