    1. Maxwells
    2. JMAXWELL
    3. I know for certain that Nancy Maxwell Brownlee lived in Jefferson OH in 1855 after her husband John Brownlee died in Brooke Ct. WV in 1852. Her daughter Nancy m. Henry Maxwell in Brooke County WV and were there with their children in 1850. I've looked at every Henry MAxwell in the US in the 1860 Census and he's nowhere to be found and Nancy Maxwell Brownlee doesn't show up in the 1860 Census (she may have died). I've checked marriage records in Jefferson Ct Ohio for the names of Henry's children and there are some matches in terms of names and "right" dates: Eliza J. Maxwell m. George W. Kiddy 1864 Mary S. MAxwell m. Jacob Stamm 1856 Sarah Maxwell m. Sylvanus H. Debee John D> Maxwell m. Margaret Jane Smith 1854 John Maxwell m. Margaret Lowther 1853 Names ring any bells???? It's possible Henry died and his family moved with his mother to Jefferson County OH and they were all living with someone who was a relative. On this note,. does there exist an "everyname" listing for the 1860 Census of Jefferson Ohio???? Josette MAxwell Boone NC

    1. Jeffers - Early 1800's
    2. Scott Byrd
    3. I am looking for information on the several JEFFERS women who married in Jefferson County in the early 1800's. My 4th great-grandfather was William JEFFERS, who immigrated from Ireland in 1804 and lived in Jefferson County until approximately 1814-1817. The first individual was Anna JEFFERS, who married Richard LOW on 29 March 1815. The next one is Jean JEFFERS, who married Jesse STEWART on 22 August 1811. The final one is Rebecca JEFFERS, who wed Charles KIMBALL on 10 November 1816. All three of these women would likely have been born in Ireland. I believe Jesse STEWART and Charles KIMBALL were both residents of Warren Township in 1850, but I cannot verify this because I do not have access to the actual census records. Any help on these families would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance. Scott Byrd Pensacola, FL

    1. Revenaugh, Keller, Higgins
    2. Dear Jefferson County, Ohio, genealogists, I am seeking information(such as age, date of birth, date of death, name of parents) of John Revenaugh who lived in Warrenton or Warren Township from approximately 1810 to his death in the 1840s. Several of his sons and daughters married in Jefferson County. William married Margaret Keller on 8 February 1818, Samuel married Catherine Keller on 13 June 1818, Elizabeth married Daniel Higgins on 26 August 1818, Christian married Jonathan Wiggins (probably Higgins) on 18 March 1821, and Delilah married Daniel Higgins on 26 June 1824. On the marriage records, William's last name was spelled Revano, Samuel's name was spelled Rivenaugh, Elizabeth's name was spelled Reveno, Christian's name was spelled Revenaugh, Delilah's name was spelled Resenariegh or Resenaregh. William Revenaugh at one time owned three properties in Warrenton and Warren Township. He sold the last property in 1832. Samuel Revenaugh and another brother John, Jr., served in the War of 1812 from Jefferson County. I believe that John, Sr., and his wife Catherine(Barnhart) lived with Daniel and Delilah Higgins after William sold his last property. Catherine died in the 1850s there. I thinhk I know who is the father of John Revenaugh, Jr., but I don't have anything official. Any information will help, and I would be glad to share any information I have on his sons and daughters. 2. Pamela Ingle
    3. Dear friends, While at the state captial in Oklahoma City last week, I found a book titled something like 1800-1820 Land Grants Filed at the Stuebenville Land Office. I found two records for grants to Malachi Jolly/Jolley, for which I made pholot copies, but since arriving home, am unable to find them. If any of you have this book available to you and wouldn't mind doing a lookup, I would be very grateful. Malachi Jolly is mentioned as the (original) grantee of the land that later became to property of George McCance (Jr.). The land was in Smith's (Smithfield), and George's son, Manson McCance purchased the interest of his brother and sisters for $300, in 1822. I've been corresponding with someone who is researching Dellah/Deliah Jolly, who married John Watts b. 1804, and would like to share this information with them as well. Thank you, Pam Ingle

    3. I recently learned Benjamin Clifton's mother was Luisa (also seen as Lovy/Lory). They were from DE. Luisa married Arthur Van Kirk 1819. He died by 1830. They had one son Arthur Jr., she died by 1842. I also found an 1848 marriage for Benjamin to Ann Curfman. He was widowed earlier that year when wife Lydia Seaton died, probably giving birth to youngest son David. Sons William Allen and David were raised by Solomon Risdon and his wife Elizabeth. Believe Benjamin's middle name was Franklin. I can't find him in 1850. I would like to hear from anyone with Van Kirk or Curfman. Thinking Ann may have been a widow considering Benjamin's age. Appreciate any info. Faith [email protected]
