After the reunion (I'm sure you won't be starved...but it's worth a stop anyway) there is a little restaurant in Del Ray or Del Roy if you're leaving Carrollton going west..I think it is on S.R. 39. They have GREAT fish sandwiches and something I've never had anywhere else...a Hot Fudge Milk shake!...makes my mouth water just thinking about it! Have a great reunion...were the Blazers connected to the ones in Southern Ohio? Hi, I found the following in the Carroll Chronicle dated 22 Nov, 1895: "A farmer by the name of ALBRIGHT in Jefferson County, near Wilson's corner, shot at a sparrow and accidentally wounded his little boy. The ball passed through the side of the barn struck the little fellow, who was inside, in the back at the base of the spine. The ball cannot be found." Would like to know the name of the farmer and his son. Thanking you in advance for any help, Elizabeth Stookesberry So CA Buckeye

I believe that Union Cemetery opened in 1854. It was created as a place to move the existing downtown cemeteries which were running out of room and in the way of development. Hence the name, Union Cemetery. There are sections of Union Cemetery that hold a particular church's existing burials. Some of the difficulty in finding burials for folks that died in Steubenville before 1854 is that periodic floods in portions of downtown had already washed away existing markers. I just want to announce that there will be a reunion of all descendants of Alexander GREEN and his wife who came to Belmont Co., in 1805. He had a large family and there are scads of descendants all over the United States but I thought I would issue this to any who might be sticking around southern Ohio and would like to come. It will be dinner at 12:30 on Saturday, June 30th at the KEN-LO Park on the corner of Rt. 226 and Wells Rd. between Wooster and Shreve, Ohio. Please bring a meat and one other dish if you are attending. If you are traveling quite a distance, and food is a difficulty, there will be a collection taken to defray the costs of the table service and the beverages which will be furnished by the committee. If you are interested in attending, please email me at my email address. Thank you. Marjory A. Austen (I am descended through Thomas and Nancy ELLEN NICHOLSON GREEN) [email protected]
Hello all, Is there someone out there from Toronto, Ohio? Can someone check the local health department for a death certificate for anyone in the BERTRUCHI/Bertrucci family? I've been to the Ohio Historic Library in Columbus, and spent a day in Steubenville, not realizing none of Toronto's information was filed with the rest of the county? Why is that? Thanks in advance. Sandy
Can anyone tell me what newspaper would be in Toronto? I am hoping to get an obituary from approximately a year ago. Thanks! LindaB
Is anyone researching these families? Trying to determine if the JUSTICE family is connected to my KELLY family. Daniel Kelly lived in Cross Creek Twp., Washington Co., PA in 1790, Brooke Co., (W)VA 1800, 1820-1831 Union Twp., Harrison Co., OH. He died 1831 in Union Twp., Harrison Co., OH. His son Jonathan Kelly, b. 1791 Cross Creek Twp., Washington Co., PA named his eldest son Justice Kelly. However Jonathan Kelly's wife was Sarah KERRIGAN. I've yet to find Sarah's parents unless they were actuallly KERNAGHANs, she could possibly be the d/o Joseph Kernaghan who died 2/21/1852 Harrison Co., OH. Thanks for any clues!
