Does any one know if there exists for Jackson Co. a record of "delayed" birth registrations and corrections? In Lawrence Co. I was able to find my paternal grandfather's birth record by looking through microfilm containing this information. He was born in 1888, but his birth wasn't reported or recorded at that time. In 1946 he registered his birth (probably for Social Security reasons) by applying and obtaining affidavits from two individuals who had knowledge of his birth and had known him for a long time. I was also able to find his brother's birth record in this manner. He was born in 1895 but didn't register his birth until 1958. I suspect the same thing has happened with my paternal grandmother who was born in 1893 and died in 1973 and possibly one of my maternal great grandmothers who was born in 1875 and died in 1966. Both were born in Jackson Co. I would appreciate any help. Ron Walke
