Leanna, I have 2 William Gilliland's but NEITHER are born to a John Gilliland. ONe is William E. U. Gilliland who is born to Peter and Isabella Brunton Gilliland. The parents were married in 1875. The other William Gilliland 1840-1897 was married to a Dever and son of Samuel Gilliland. I do have several Dawson's but none are Melvina. If you ever find more Dawson's let me know.
