Thomas, Did my message get through last night on your VERNON line? I sent it late but the computer came back about ISP being down for service so don't know if it got through. I was looking at Sarah Vernon who is sister? of Elizabeth Versnon since Sarah Vernon may have been the Sarah that married Martin Poore. There are 2 Sarah's and I can't get the dates straightened out--one married Poore and one married a Burris. I just recently started chatting with Lois Dye who is descended from Nancy Vernon. I use to live in OH but now live in NC and will be going to Stokes Co for my Scurlocks so will keep an eye out for Vernon's. Lois and I were discussing maybe they "wagon trained" together. I know my Scurlock/Poore's were here by 1806-1808 timeframe. She thinks hers came around 1811??. So any info would be great. (I also have several of the other surnames you mention but my primary interest is SCURLOCK, BISHOP, POORE...but it seems they married everybody. :) And with 10-13 kids EACH for the first 2 -3 generations that adds up.
