I am looking for information on ANY Fuel/Fewell families that settled in Jackson County Ohio. I have a photo of a Jim Fuel with my gggrandma. Smith Fuel{listed as Hewell in cemetery book} is buried with his wife in my Foster family plot. In 1880 Lotta{my gggrandma}is listed as his daughter but she was the daughter of Elizabeth Trevel{??} & William Kessinger, so I think Elizabeth may have married Smith Fuel after her husband died, in my grandma's handwriting she has on the back of the photo Grandmother & Uncle Jim Fuel...it is an old picture. Can anyone help with this surname? Thanks Schannon

Hi--I meant to tell you that (re my previous e-mail about the Tuel/Tuell line) that the 1870 Washington Co., OH census lists Edward Tuell as having a son James, age 14, born in OH and working in a roll mill. That makes James' approx. year of birth as 1856; could he be your James Fuel? There are noTuel/Tuells (or similar spellings) in the 1880 Washington Co., OH census. Found no James Tuel/Tuell in either marriage books for Monroe and Wash. Counties.
