    2. Shirley Chaney
    3. My first rollcall: BAKER, MARTIN / JACOBS, TREXLER, BENNETT, HARRIS / COLEGROVE, LEWIS, PECK/ and LOVELL, O'NEILL, and CRAIG. I would especially like to connect John Jacobs ( b. abt 1800 give or take, d. ?) from Jackson Co. and/or Scioto Co. to Licking, or Knox Co. There are approx. 350 John Jacobs' in OH, WV, PA & IN. I can eliminate most, but those more than a few I still haven't found the right John; or maybe I just can't see him for looking at so many! This particular John Jacobs is my gggrandfather; he had a son John C. Jacobs, b. 1838, d. 1885 who married Emma Harris. John C. was born at Buda, Bureau Co. IL. In the Licking Co. 1840 census the only Jacobs family with a 2yr old boy was John Jacobs, wife, 1 dau. and 3 sons, all in their teens + a 2yr old boy. The 1850 census the youngest boy was found; 12 yrs old living in the Wirt household; at age 22 he was working on the farm of James Campbell. I'm sure this was John C. Jacobs. He and Emma Harris had 10 children, all in Knox Co. OH. On John's enlistment record, 1865, he stated his father's name was John, mother dec.; and his parents were from WV. I would appreciate any help to come my way! Shirley [email protected]
