I had heard that there were problems within the family, hence,the children of John Jr. and Mary Rhodes, including William, Jesse, Otheniel and Sanford, came to Missouri before 1848. John was son of John Sr. and wife Catherine Franks Bacus. He had brothers Peter, James and Michael. My line is through John Jr. and Mary Rhodes, their son Jesse Bacus and wife Catherine Matthews, their daughter, Nancy Jane Bacus, married to Alonzo Waite, their son,Ora Waite and wife, Mahala Carter, to me, Gladys Waite DePuy.
