I have been trying to figure out who Mary Amanda Garverick's mother is since March with little success. Mary Amanda Garverick seems to have been born in Ohio around 1896 to Edward Milton Garverick and a woman named Rozzy. We have a picture labeled "Rozzy Strieb," but when I look for marriage records for Edward Milton Garverick, all I can find is a record in 1902 for Edward M. Garverick and DORA or Dorathea Streib. There is a family story that Mary Amanda's mother died young and her father remarried, but why would "Streib" pop up after both Rozzy and Dora? Is it possible that they were sisters? If that's the case, well, Dora's parents were Conrad Streib and Dorothy Mollenkopf. I can't find any listings of their children that list their daughters though, so I can't confirm. Either way, it seems like Mary Amanda's mother was this mysterious Rozzy who died sometime before 1903, and Edward M. Garverick went on to marry Dora. Anybody have any idea?
