Finding his descendants in the US would be a bonus! On the 1900 US Census he along with his wife Emma and 3 children; Stanly, Effie & Ella are living in Glaize, Miller, Missouri. According to the census record he was 35. A Farmer. Black. His birthplace was Michigan and his parents' birthplace was Ohio. He owned is farm mortgage free. On August 11, 1910 he crosses the Canadian/American border at Emerson, Manitoba. Occupation listed as a Farmer. Destination: Edmonton. Cash on hand: $68 On the 1910 US census his wife Emma Lett is a roomer along with her 2 daughters; Effie & Ella in the Mary L Hutchins household in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Race; Mulatto. Birthplace; Ohio. Parents' birthplace; Ohio. Married: 20 years. Children; 4 - 2 living. No occupation listed. Able to read & write. On the 1920 US census Emma is living with her brother John M Johnson and his 5 children; Flora, Homer, Estelle, Richard & Pansy in Cimarron, Logan, Oklahoma. Race; Mulatto. Able to read & write. No profession listed. And on the 1930 US census Emma is living with her daughters; Ella (Hanks) & Effie (Busher or Boston), son-in-law James Hanks, 3 grandchildren; James, Helen & Edward and 3 lodgers @ 1910 East 13 Street in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri. Birthplace; Ohio. Parents' birthplace; Ohio. Married at age; 21. Race; Black. I believe that Ella & James Hanks had at least 3 children; Helen L born June 11 1924, Edward born about 1926 & James E born about 1928. Helen married and divorced a Taylor. She died November 6, 1993 @ Aultman Hospital in Canton, Stark, Ohio. She was 69. Divorced. Occupation; Bookkeepers, accounting or auditing clerks - Air Transportation. Race; African American (Black). Education; 12. SS#; 514-22-5437 Charley dies on November 26, 1958. According to his obituary he was 94 and died after a prolonged illness in an Edmonton, Alberta area hospital. He was born in Ohio and had worked on building the Alberta Legislature in 1912. According to a grave marker supplied by the Province of Alberta his date of birth was November 8, 1865.
