He was a retired lawyer and judge. I think all of his children have passed away, so this might have to be a more distant relative... either through him, a Campbel,l or through his wife, Lizzie Gilbert. Robert's mother was Fannie Evans, so I guess an Evans relative might have information. These folks lived in Brown County, OH; near Bentonville, Adams Co, Oh.; near Carlisle, Brown Co., Oh and in New Burlington, Clinton County, Ohio Would appreciate any help. Author: luvzsun Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.unknown/13155.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Birth records prior to 1908 were recorded with the Probate Court in the county where the person was born. However, those records are basic; name of the child, date of birth, place of birth, names of the parents and who reported the birth. If Freda was born in Youngstown that could be Mahoning or Trumbull county. You would probably find more information from her marriage license applications, assuming she married in Ohio. The application asked for her (and his) age, date of birth, residence, birthplace, occupation, father name, mother's maiden name, whether either was previously married, if she divorced or was a widow and her previous married name. Freda must have married Elmer between 1930 and 1948. Elmer was still single in the 1930 census and when he died 6 Jul 1948 he was divorced. In doing research for my family tree I believe I have uncovered my maternal great-grandmothers maiden name as Zimmerman. First name Freda. I have found out thru searches that vital statistics doesn't have records prior to 1908??? She was born in 1900. I would like to learn of other family members, her mother/father/siblings/ etc. Any info that anyone can provide would be appreciated. Also as an aside she was married to Elmer Glazzard and Samuel Meyers. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Youngstown is the county seat for MAHONING CO. I have learned that any info I'd like to retrieve from them I'll have to pay 7.00 per document as they are contracted with an online service to provide documents. Or I can go there (from Florida) and set up an appointment for geneol. research, or get an unstamped document for 2.50. I was just hoping perhaps there was someone else out there with info. My family did not keep very good records :-(. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Not sure where the county seat is for YOungstown, but writing to probably the Civil Court for lookup of a Divorce proceeding to start your search off. Try googling "Youngstown Ohio Divorce records" it should send you to the right link to search from. Good luck. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
