I have recently been looking at the WILCOX line and on back. Start here: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nejeffer/ and look at the archives of the mailing list. The Wrigleys are buried in Harbine cemetery. Gladys Harvey was married to Arthur Blane Wrigley and they moved to Wyoming. Jesse H. Harvey & wife Ethel Wrigley went to Oregon. Glenn H. Harvey & wife Catherine Folk went to Wyoming. Walter Harvey & wife Sadie Cleveland went to Oregon. Gertrude Harvey & husband Fred Knispel went to Oregon. Anne M. Harvey & husband Ronald Robinson went to Cheyenne, WY. My mom drove to Jefferson co., NE and took pictures of the cemetery and looked up some of the marriage records. Do you have access to Ancestry at home or at a local library? You can use the U.S. Census to track a lot of the Wilcox movement. My mom's notes: Jesse W. Wilcox' obituary - not found in newspapers at Beatrice Public Library. Margaret Annie Brown obituary - see below Mary Ella (Wilcox) Harvey - interred Sunset Memorial Gardens, Portland, Oregon. DOD: May 5, 1955. THEN IN THE OREGONIAN IT SAID THIS: WILCOX The funeral service for the late Jesse W. Wilcox, aged 85 will be held at the Chapel of the St. Johns Undertaking Co. Saturday August 1 at 1 PM Surviving are three sons, George A. of Nebraska, Elmer E and Roy of Portland. One daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Harvey of Wyoming, Mr. Wilcox was a private in Company X, 7th regiment, Iowa infantry and served from February 1864 to June 1865 Interment will be in Columbian cemetery. On her death certificate it lists Walter Harvey & Mary Wilcox as her parents. I think Mary's parents were Jessie W. Wilcox & Margret Annie Brown. All I have before that is that Jessie's parents were from Tennessee and Margret's parents were from New York. Am I on the right track? How do you get records from Jefferson Co., Ne to verify this? William was born about 1816 in Ohio. Sarah J was born about 1828 in Indiana. In 1880 William and Sarah were living in Carroll County, Indiana. Their son, Robert T Adams was born 1850 in Indiana. Here are my guesses so far: William and Sarah were probably married in Ohio or Indiana between 1846 and 1850. William Adams' parents: -- probably born before 1798 -- both born in Virginia -- probably married before 1816 in Virginia or Ohio Sarah's parents: -- probably born before 1810 -- father born in Virginia -- mother born in Pennsylvania -- probably married before 1828 in Virginia, Pennsylvania, or Indiana William and Sarah are my 3rd great grandparents. Here's a link to my rootsweb site: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=gtmathews_adams Please let me know if you have any other hints. Happy Hunting! The Margaret Hunter death ties in as I know she was born in Ontario & the family was in Cuyahoga at the time of the 1920 census and Margaret was not there, only Alexander aged 8 & the mother & father. Anna's parents were Alex Johnstone & Jessie Mackay, & the Cuyahoga is right, so that ties in as well. To answer your questions, Alex Hunter was 22 when they married in 1910 so was born abt. 1888. Jessie's maiden name was Jessie MacKay Johnstone. This is great!!! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
