This is the first that I have heard anything about George V Stettler's family. I don't believe that Agnes was able to find anything on him in PA, but am not sure. I will check out the information you posted more on that later. I have quite a few irons in the fire right now and not much time for genealogy. Thank you. I descend from George V Jr's brother Heinrich Stettler. Thanks for the info on Preble County. Agnes did a lot of research on the Stettler family as she was a part of that family. She may have found a birth record for Edward and recorded it in her records. I am also related to that family as my ancestor was George V Stettler whose daughter Eva Catherine married Abraham Pontius. I have not done much research on the Stettler family myself but I know that Agnes did extensive research on the family. After looking over a few, it's because he was in Real Estate, working for AETNA selling farms and then in 1943, there was an announcement with his picture for business in Farm Sales, Farm Loans and Real Estate Brokerage. If you would like copy, let me know. Was trying to find another marriage record for him, since his death said he was married. Only thing I could find was a STETTLER child died in 1964 and they had his paternal grandmother as Mrs. Edwin LOCKWOOD. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. There are a few Ohio cities' directories online. If it is a major city, their library should have directories and some are listed in the FHC library catalog. If you are not near the city you are searching, a $6 film from LDS is a bargain, considering a volunteer's time, almost $3 a gallon gas and parking costs. You have to keep in mind though that some directories didn't include the spouse's name until the mid-1920s and children weren't listed unless they were employed or college students. I hope you can help me. In researching my family history I have come across Skwato and William Rainey, my distant (several generations back) great grand parents. In my search I have found that they had one son, Matthew, born in 1815, who married Mary Johnson. Matthew and Mary had a daughter Mary, born in 1846 in Indiana. Mary Rainey married Josuah Manning and they had a daughter Lucy Frances, born in 1878. Lucy married John Halliday and they had a daughter Charlotte, born in 1903. Charlotte was my grandmother. I have been searching for about a year looking for any information I might be able to find on these acestors. So far without much success. I was thrilled to find your postings and am hoping that you (or your friend, Joyce Truit) could help me with any info for Swato's mother and help me fill in other gaps I have in this branch of my family history. All information will be greatly appreciated and I will be happy to share what I have been able to find. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks and regards, John Fischer fischerjtf@yahoo.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
