Johnston, b. ca. 1833 in Delaware, possible father was Joseph Johnston. A possible brother may have been William b. ca. 1829 in Delaware. John married Durinda Pruder who was born in New Jersey, marriage date and location unknown. They then moved to Ohio, date and location unknown. They are said to have had a rather large family. I came across a Jonathan C. Johnston, b. ca. 1850 to Joseph E. Johnston and Mary Ann McCormick. The coincidence in the names caught my attention, but there was no other information on them. We are trying to help someone connect a Great Grandfather, Calvin Jeremiah ANDREWS, to his Father. Calvin was born in 1849 in Fayette Co., OH. His Mother was Ellen/Eleanor BOLIN, who was married, according to a 1847 Fayette County marriage record, to a Lewis ANDERS. Lewis died sometime before the 1850 OH Census and Ellen ANDREWS and son Calvin are recorded in another Fayette County hosehold, most likely the family of her sister & brother-in-law. In the next household, according to the Census, was Ellen's father Eli. There is some question as to whether Calvin's Father was an ANDREWS or an ANDERS, and both surnames were present in 1850 Fayette. There is also some question as to whether his given name was Lewis or John. Can anyone privy to Personal Property Tax List records, please check 1847, 1848, 1849 and 1850 Fayette, Clinton and Highland Counties (since they lived close to where all three Counties merge) for all ANDERS and ANDREWS? This may clarify the issue of whether Calvin's Father was Lewis/John ANDREWS/ANDERS. Thank you for any assistance. I look forward to hearing from you.
