Here is what I have: Conrad Volling was born on 01/25/1869 in Germany and died on 10/20/1929 in Wisconsin. His parents were Conrad Volling and Elizabeth Zeidentop. They were born in Germany too. That is all I have. No other information about siblings, other informational dates, where in Germany they are from. I've heard Hannover is possible, but not sure. Conrad was married to Emma nee Fricka who was born on 03/09/1875 and died on 02/24/1958. I have always heard her maiden name referred to as Fricka, but I question if that is the correct spelling. In her death record, it lists her father as Otto and the last name looks like Griske or Friske. Her mother was Dorothy Reinicke. All three of them are listed as being born in Germany, but I have heard that they might be from Austria. Like Conrad's family, I no nothing more about siblings she might have, exactly where she is from, other important dates, etc. If you ca! n help, you are appreciated. They left after their daughter was born in May 1845 and showed up in Indiana in July 1847 for the birth of their son. A descendant got a story from her grandfather that our Moses Davison (1804-1880) took his wife (Elizabeth Moss) & 9 children on a flatboat down the Ohio River and into Indiana. We've currently matched DNA to a Davison line out of Bullitt Co., KY and so we do believe that this story is true. I would appreciate hearing from any/all Davison & Davidson researchers to see if we can't pinpoint where along the trip we lost the father of Moses. He is possibly Samuel, born c1774 and he sold land in 1825 (Fayette Co., PA) with his wife Mary...and was alive on the census in PA in 1830 for Washington Co., PA. Please touch base with me to compare data. Thank you. Sandymento@comcast.net Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. She was born to an unwed mother (Louisa Fryback) in 1869 in Miami County, Ohio. She appears in the 1870 Census as Viola Fryback with mother Louisa (her full name is Minnie Viola). She appears in the 1880 Census as Minnie Hartley with mother now Louisa Hartley. We believe that Louisa's husband, Arthur J Hartley, adopted her in the 1870s (of course, he could have also been her biological father, so far we don't know). She married as Minnie Viola (Hartley) Eickmeyer. Do any of you know whether records were kept for that timeframe? Thanks!
