I am looking for any relatives to Juliane Mary Didler (Dettler\Diettler\Dittler\Ditler\Didler). Her maiden name is unknown, Didler is her married name or some variation of the name Didler. She was born abt. 1772 in Edersleben, Germany and d. aft 1850 in Pikes County, OH. I know of only one child, Christian Dittler b. Jul 1810 in Landgrafroda, Germany d. 31 Aug 1875 in Warsaw, Benton County, MO. I show that she immigrated to the United States in 1842 (New York Passenger Lists 1820-1957) with her son Christian Didler, daughter-in-law Rosina Didler and grandchildren, Carl, Frederick and Wilhelm Didler. I found a 1850 Federal Census Record for her under the name Mary Didler (Year: 1850; Census Place: Jackson, Pike, Ohio; Roll: M432_721; Page: 330A;) In the 1860 Federal Census I find her son and his family (whom she immigrated with) located in Pee Pee, Pike County, Ohio. According to a family bible Juliane Mary Didler died in Pikes County, Ohio in 1850. The spelling of the last name changed from census to census and state to state . Her son Christian's headstone lists the spelling as DITTLER in Benton County, Missouri, but his son Christian August states the last name as DETTLER. I am trying to identify any other children to Juliane and the name of her husband. If you have any information I would greatly appreciate it. Someone on our DNA list did a swab for another surname and it turns out that he was a direct match (32/34) with ours. We are still trying to find out where he fits in, it doesn't really say who his father was, but there was a family living near his mother (out of wedlock also) with the correct surname, but it could have been one of their sons, or someone visiting etc. It might help narrow it down, but you may never know. This would be useful if there are other males of the Browning family, that is, if James Conrad Browning is still living, or if Charles M. Browning has full brothers or male cousins through a brother of James Conrad Browning. That would determine if Charles is James' biological son. If that proves to be true, you could put the entire story to rest. If not, you could pursue to family story more vigorously.
