My grandfather on Mothers side was Calvin Clay Gilpin, 1866, he had 5 Indian grandmothers or part-but most in the rolls. Thier names were Elizabeth Gore(when she was born, the Indians brought gifts, one gift was a silver pitcher, Her son and his Indian wife was Calvin Riley Bradney & Mary Ann Jorden, she was supposedly an Indian ORPHAN. They lived in an Indian community called CARMEL, in Highland Co., Ohio. The others in his family are Daughtery, Hawk, Waldron. Then back to Newman side, my gr grandmother is Elizabeth Margaret C. HORN/HONN. SHE IS NATIVE AMERICAN, SUPPOSEDLY SANTEE INDIANS. Her mother was Rachel Jane Santee,1840, marr Moses Horn/Honn 1842 Her father was Wm. Santee, abt 1813, and his father may have been Wilson Santee. (Pa or NC) Maggie(Margaret) abt 1864 first marr Michal Hawse. Then she marr my gr grandfather Andrew Bird Newman, born 1847, in Va. or Ohio. He may have been related to Samuel Newman in South Carolina, who had a son Jonathon Newman, who had a daughter Louise Newman who marr Chief Thomas Buffington, and that Newman line is still being researched by me. I was told by several, that the line of Chabot/Ellison/Reed/Hauser is in my line, Michale Hauser marr Elizabeth Fry, in Surry Co. NC. My grandfather was raised by by the HAWSE family. Rudes, 61, of Martin, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009, in St. Charles-Mercy Hospital, Oregon, after a hard fought battle against lung cancer. Paulette was born January 20, 1948, in Clay Center, Ohio, to Herman and Susan P. (Jensen) Oberhaus. On March 8, 1968, in Williston, Ohio, she married Randolph H. Rudes, who survives her. She was a homemaker but had worked at MCO and St. Charles-Mercy Hospital as an RN for five years in the mid-late 1980's. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and traveled extensively to watch their games. Paulette was an expert knitter, specializing in personalized Christmas stockings of which she created over 500. She enjoyed the many years that she spent taking care of the band uniforms at Genoa Area High School and always enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren. Paulette is survived by her husband, Randy, daughters, Angie Jimerson of Elmore, Laurie (Doug) Dangler, MD, of Worthington, OH, Abbey (Jeremy) King of Martin,! Lindsey (Tom) Milam of Ida, MI, and grandchildren, Greg, Tim, Becca, Nick, Evan, and Sarah. She is also survived by her brothers, Dennis, Jerry, and Tom Oberhaus and sisters, Bernadine Newton, Carrol Krukemyer, and Janet Purney. Paulette was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Roger "Buck," Donald "John," and Wayne Oberhaus and sisters, Bonnie Keller and Nort Matchett. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2009, in St. John's United Church of Christ, 1213 Washington St., Genoa, with additional visitation from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will take place in Allen Township Cemetery, Williston. The family has suggested memorials for Paulette to the Genoa Music Boosters Scholarship Fund, c/o the Genoa Area Local Schools Scholarship Foundation, P.O.
