Trying to track down his 2nd great-grandmother, Nancy Sheets (b: 1855 in Ohio). Older sister Melissa Sheets (b: 1852 in Ohio). Both living w/John & Henrietta Coleman's family in 1860 Census in Troy Township, Richland County, Ohio. Nancy still living w/John & Henrietta Coleman & their son Isaac in 1870 Census in Friends Creek Township, Macon County, IL. Her marriage record to Lafayette Williams was recorded in DeWitt County, IL but has written corrections on the record. Married in Macon County, IL (both lived in Friends Creek). Listed incorrectly as "Nelcy Sheits". She supposedly died giving birth to my husband's great-grandfather, Albert Henry "Jack" Williams (b: 5/11/1873), yet I'm unable to track down her death or burial info. so far. Anyone know of or related to this Sheets family, or know of a relationship to the Coleman family? Your help is appreciated! They came here from Hungary around 1895. They lived in Inman and also in Imboden, Virginia. I have information about their children, one of whom was my grandma, Elizabeth Bolinsky, married to Ed Barton Holman of Virginia. I am searching for information about relatives, I'm trying to find out if Steve had any brothers or sisters and maybe what was the name of his parents in Hungary. I know that he had a different last name before he came to the United States, something like Palenkesh or Palikash. I'm not sure of the spelling. Sophia's maiden name is spelled 3 or 4 different ways Bolet, Boleut, Bolent. I know that she had a twin sister, but I don't know her sister's name. Apparently the sister went to live in Chicago. If anyone has ANY information at all that could help me, I would be so very grateful. Thank you all so much, Warmly, Carol (Holman) O'Brocki Glen Burnie, Maryland Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I finally found a little more information and I am hoping something may jump out at someone. My great great grandfather was Mikko (Micheale) Filppi. He was born 13 Aug 1864 in Finland and died 3 Sep 1904 in Fairport Harbor OH. His tombstone reading was put online and they listed his last name as Filippi. No one else in the family has the extra i-not even his wife. I do not know if this was a typo or if he was the last one to use the extra i. Mikko was married to Susanna Katherine Salumaki. She was born 16 Jun 1868 in Harma, Vasa, Loani, Finland and died 13 jul 1936 in Ohio (Perry I believe). On her death cert. it says that her father is unknown and that her mother was Juha Salumaki. Juha was also from Harma, Vasa, Loani, Finland. Mikko and Susanna's children were: Richard (1889-1965) Victor Michael (1893-1966) William (1894-1936) Ella (1897-?) Anna (1901-?) Elmer "Rollo" (1902-1957) Martha (1904-1982) There were so many children, so I am hoping someone else is working on this and a name will jump out. Thank you for any help you can give. Oh and I noticed that a lot of people are saying Juha means John-I am not sure if they messed up in their placement of the name on her death certificate, but it was listed under mother.
