Author: KimAmundsen123 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.unknown/13395.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Wow! That's a lot of info, thanks. It would seem that she was indeed Charles' sister. I guess it is a coincidence that I found a Charles and Elma in Iowa in 1905...I have placed Charles in OH in 1900 and from 1920 on, so I guess I can't totally rule it out that he went back to Iowa for some reason. I am at a loss finding Lena/Elma/Elene. Possibly one hit when she may have been a servant, but otherwise dead end. Same for Ole Amundsen. There are so many, and without more information I am stuck yet again. I cannot find Norwegian birth, death or marriage records that I can confirm 100%. Still cannot find Charles and ?sister on a ship although I know Charles immigrated around 1887 per his naturalization records. Fun but frustrating. Thanks so much for your help. I know you have spent a good deal of time on this. Kim Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Notes: Amundsen: Lena, beloved sister of Charles G., passed away at the home of her brother, 3305 De Sota Avenue, Cleveland Heights, on Sunday evening. Funeral Wednesday, June 18, at 2:30 p. m., from the Koebler Funeral Home, 1966 E. 82d Street, at Euclid Avenue. Charles' death certificate lists him born in Elverum, Norway to Ole Amundsen and Martha Unknown Id#: 0004719 Name: Amundsen, Charles G. Date: Oct 4 1939 Source: Source unknown; Cleveland Necrology File, Reel #002. Notes: Amundsen: Charles G., beloved husband of Mary J. (nee Johnson). Father of Walter G. and Raymond O.; grandfather of Robert. Friends may call at the Paul T. Long Funeral Home. 12610 Woodland ave., where services will be held Wednesday, Oct, 4, at 2:30 p. m. I checked the Cleveland City Directory for 1937 (the only one I own) and their is only one Charles G. Amundsen in it, his wife is Mary and they live at 3305 De Sota Ave. The same address where Elma/Lena died. So I'm pretty sure she's Charles' sister. I do appreciate it and welcome any further tips. For the person who asked, my Fuller connection is as follows. My G Grandfather was William LONG born 1871 or 1872 in Middletown Ohio. Records show that his wife's name is Anna FULLER born 1876 in either OH or KY. (census records are conflicting) we believe she is of native American decent though not possitive. My Granmother's family bible shows her name as Cynthia Ann Fuller though I have found no records that show "Cynthia" and plenty where she goes simply by Anna or in one case Annie. Any connections? It has been so long ago since I posted that, that I have tons of accurate info on John Miller, the one you think might be your gggg-grandfather. I have a public tree - Miller Family Tree. You should be able to have access to it to review. The only John Miller I can't find would be your gggg-grandfather's (John Miller) ggg-grandfather who also have the name of John Miller. He married an Elizabeth. Here is how it looks John Miller - wife Elizabeth Benjamin G Miller - son of John and Elizabeth John H Miller - son of Ben and Martha John E Miller - son of John H and Mary Violet Elder (this is the one that you say is your gggg-grandfather) I sure would like to hear further from you if you have more info that would help us both.
