I am not sure you have the Colorado info... I found some Shull's info listed in the Longmont Ledger (longmont, CO)...Since only a small portion of the papers are on line, I was only able to pull a couple of the articles from home....the rest I will have to get from the Longmont Library.. Here is the list from the Longmont Legder directory.. Shull, Ethel Fern D 29 Nov 1889 Shull, Frank Luther D 29 Nov 1889 Shull, H. G. (Rev.) D 19 Apr 1889 Shull, M. L. D 28 Apr 1911.....found Shull, Viola Blanche M 23 Jun 1893 Shull, Walter M 30 Sep 1898.....found Shull,Wilber A. M 09 Jun 1933 Here is the link for the Longmont Ledger if you would like to look at it.. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~colgs/ledgerindex.htm There are a number of articles about a M. L. Shull in the Longmont Ledger that you can look at on line in the Colorado Historical Newspapers....Just search Shull in the Longmont Ledger. It seems he was into Real Estate and his daughter married a Davis...Here is that link.. It is alot easier to use if you sort by ascending date. http://www.coloradohistoricnewspapers.org/Default/Skins/Colorado/Client.asp?Skin=Colorado&AW=1299528346171&AppName=2 I will post the marriage of Walter Shull and obit for Martin L. Shull....I think they are probably the same person.. I hope some of this might help you out with your family research. Anna in Colorado. He was born in New Jersey around 1892 or so.. he lived in Youngstown Ohio then simply vanished. However there must be someone out there who knows of his siblings if any, other wives or children. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am working hard on trying to uncover why he left my grandma, mother and aunt in the mid to late 20's and was never heard from again. Thank-you. You did not state WHAT information you are seeking! Facts you should know about the early census records - All census records [1790 - 1840] prior to the 1850 census ONLY listed the head of household; whether male or female. NO specific age was stated for any family member NO place of birth was stated - city, state, or country NO city, town, or village is stated - only the county; however some census takers listed the township NO street address was stated NO marital status was stated - single, married, widowed, or divorced NO family relationship was stated - brother, sister, cousin, son, daughter, wife, inlaw, etc. NO occupation was stated NO parental birthplaces are stated NO race was stated [but assume "white"] 1850, 1860 & 1870 census records do not show family relationships, marital status or parental birthplaces. Step children are not enumerated as "step" children Adopted children are not enumerated as "adopted" Grand children are not enumerated as "grand children" Orphaned children were not enumerated as "orphan" 1850 is the 1st census that shows all family members 1880 is the 1st census that shows parental birthplaces Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: TSully980 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.unknown/13513/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Please help with this dead end. I have spent years searching the Sullivan line only to find out that my father was actually of the Bolen line. (I uncovered a family secret). Thus my research has started over searching the Bolen line. I haven't been able to locate William Bolen in the 1830, 40, 50 census. The same is true for his wife. There 1st born occurred in either 1849 or 1851 depending on which census you view. I suspect the 1851 is accurate. I have located this family in the 1860 Mason county KY census. They had children born in Mason beginning in 1851. They are listed in the 1870 census in White county Illinois. So for a decade or so they lived in Mason Ky. I can't locate any records for them other than the 1860 census. Would like to locate birth records for the children, Martha Jane b.1851, William Henry b.1851, Anna Bell b.1856, Robert Wilburn b.1858, Amanda b.1862, David b.1865 Illinois Melissa b.1869 Illinois The parents names of William Bolen born 1828 (father of above children) are needed as well. He was born in Ohio and his parents in Virgina. The parents names of Nancy Jane Hudson born 1831 (mother of above children and wife of William) are needed as well. She and her parents were born in New York. The family is located in the 1860,70,80 census' I can't locate any birth records or death records for any of the parents or children. I appreciate any help or clues. Thank you, Troy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
