I looked on the link that you sent and just typed in Harriet Thrall. I managed with great surprise an entry for Harriet born in about 1842 aged 38 that was born in England and died in Pennsylvania. These details match quite well to mine. I am just trying to read as to the cause of death, but the writing is very hard to read. I noticed that it mentions where she was burried and her address too. I have never been directed to the link you sent, but it is of great use to me. Thank you again. I am now going to search for the other members that moved to America. Author: CJurkow Surnames: Thrall, Hurst Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.unknown/12992/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking for details for a Henry Thrall born in 1810 in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England and his wife Harriet Thrall (nee Hurst), also from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England. They are noted on the 1870 Census as living in Philadelphia. They had three children, Harriet 1871, Henry 1874 and Sarah E. (Ellen) 1980. The children are noted to be born in Maryland, Cumberland according to the 1880 US census. There are no more records for the parents. In 1881 you can see that two of the children are living back in Mansfield as orphans with the Hurst family. This would mean that the parents died between 1880 and 1881. On the 1880 US Census you can see that they had one Son, Henry (Henery) staying in the US, but as a Lodger/Boarder with the Parkinson family aged 6. Henry's two sisters, Harriet and Sarah were Baptised in England in December 1880 in England. The move back England must have happened between the 1880 census and December 1880. I would really like to find if there are any reocords for this family at all. There are no death records in either Enalnd or the US that I can find. I wondered if anyone else may be able to have a look for me. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hi list, for those with British ancestry hundreds more Removal added and more "Law and Order" references. These records along with the others (Settlement, Bastardy, Apprentices) concern persons as found in Derbyshire, but they were not all Derbyshire bred. They came from all over Britain. So if you have lost your ancestor he might just have made it here. mike -- http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~spire/Yesterday/index.htm
