Stimpson, other thatn his wife, Cecelia, whose maiden name I have been unable to find. The 1920 U.S. Census lists his residence as Semmes, Alabama and his place of birth as Indiana. It also lists his parents' place of birth as Ohio but their names are not listed. Unfortunately, my grandparents have all passed away so there is little in the way of any oral history to fill in any of the blanks. If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated. I have a question regarding the 1917 epidemic of what disease? Is it possible if a child died among the many that a death cert might have been missed being done? I can't find my Jenkins child in the 1920 census after he appeared in 1910. His twin brother died in 1914 of diptheria complications so maybe this boy died later and they missed doing his death cert. Carl Jenkins found death cert in 1914 Darl Case Jenkins not found. Lindsey
Yes I saw him but don't believe any relation to this family. Thank you. I'm looking for any information about my grandfather's family in Denmark specifically in Gilleleje. His name is Robert Johan Petersen born 1919 to Alfred and Marie Petersen. He was one of I believe 12 children, some of his siblings were Kai and Axel. He left with the Danish merchant marines during WWII and met my grandmother Betty Ruth Hungerpillar in South Carolina. They married in 1947-49 I'm not sure exactly when and then they moved back to Denmark (Copenhagen, I think) and worked in a Bakery. Any info or leads would be greatly appreciated! I need some help. My ggrandfather Scott Preston Squyres has always made it publicly known that he is part Indian. He died many years before I was born and I don't have many relatives on my dad's side since my great grandfather only had one child and my dad only had 2 children and 1 aunt had 1 child... not a big family at all. Anyway, this is really hard to find a starting point. I have recently been trying to find out about his family line and my aunt has said that she found that we are related to Tecumseh. My great grandfather said that he was 1/16 Cherokee but my aunt found that it isn't Cherokee but Shawnee and we are related to Tecumseh. I've spoken with some distant Squyres who have done a lot of research and get info from all the Squyres they have come in contact with over the years and have written a couple books. I was wondering if you could help me with names and somehow meet in the middle? My ggrandfather looks very much Indian. He had black eyes, well defined black brows and straight black hair. I can send you pictures of myself, my dad, and my ggrandfather if that would help in finding family resemblences. Thank you Andrea Grotta Also, I was reading through all your posts and I found this about George Alford. Alfords married into the Squyres family. Author: gilmorega Surnames: Gilmore, Loomis Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.unknown/13062/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am seeking information on my great-great-grandfather Henry W. Gilmore. He was born in Ohio on June 24, 1831 and died in Bates County Missouri on August 7, 1904. He married Cornelia C. Loomis (Oct. 23, 1939 - December 22, 1910) in Indiana on April 3, 1859. Her grave marker indicates that she was born in Ravenna and I have seen some evidence suggesting that Henry was born in Portage County as well. His son (my great-grandfather), Arthur Loomis Gilmore was born in Ohio on December 31, 1864 and died in Bates County Missouri on August 12, 1936. Through census records I know that Henry's father was born in Ohio and his mother was born in Pennsylvania. According to the 1900 Bates County census, Cornelia had a total of nine births with six living children. I know of one other child, Laura, who was born in Ohio on August 26, 1860. Another child, Mittie Hannah, was born in Indiana on July 28, 1870. I know they were in Missouri by 1877 because their daughter Lila (1875-1877)! is buried in Bates County beside Henry and Cornelia. I do not know who Henry's parents are and have reached a dead end in my Missouri-based research. Any information about his family would be valuable.
