I am wondering if our lines might connect poss thru father of John Gray Braddock; John Braddock b1776PA d Dec 1858 OH. Mother was Margaret (Peggy) Gray. My line goes back to Francis Braddock b1766 d1828 Laurens Co.SC, buried in Church Yard of Duncan's Creek Presbyterian Church, Laurens Co, SC along with his wife Ann McClure who also died 1828. Her parents are said to be James McClure & Isabella Gray. This makes me wonder if John b1776 & Francis b 1766 could be brothers or maybe cousins. I have Francis' father as William b1741 Eng. not sure if that's correct & have no info on other children or spouse. Also curious if may have been connection with Gray family. Any add'l info on John or Francis families would be greatly appreciated. I live in Texas but visited burial place of Francis & Ann McClure Braddock in Laurens Co,SC summer of 2007 & took photos of graves there. The Duncan's Creek Presby Church is still there & functioning. Have photos of it also if interested. Braddocks were some of 1st buried there. Most of Francis' sons & families migrated to Tippah Co,Miss around 1850's. Later on many of them migrated to Navarro Co,TX. Thanks again, Rhonda Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I know that an Aaron, son of Ebenezer Walker and Dianah Ball married Miriam Rigg in Redstone monthly meeting. I have seen that he subsequently married a Rebecca but I cannot find any information or verification of the death of Miriam. I understand that he moved to Ohio and his son Isaac was born in Jefferson County in 1813. I don't know where he married Rebecca, in Penn. or Ohio, or if she was Quaker also. Also, I have seen two references to her last name as either Gilbert Brown or the widow of Samuel Hill. I cannot find a record of either. Aaron died about 1825 but I cannot find any record of this either. By the time of his death I believe that he had moved out of Jefferson Co. possibly to Cadiz. The only record of a death of an Aaron Walker in Ohio that I can find is in the mid century. I believe that would be another son. Hi list, Yesterdays updated and includes a new section dealing with Schools and admission registers. A few persons actually atteneded school in New York before attending the schools they are shown as attending in England. Others went to America. There are several hundred names of persons who were admitted to these schools who previously came from other Counties throughout England. -- http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~spire/Yesterday/index.htm

BUT there is evidence that he is descended from the Drakes of Westmoreland CO VA. These Drakes also seem to be descended from a Richard Draek b abt 1630 who came from Somerset England arriving in 1661. The Isle of Wight Drakes are descended from another Richard Drake b abt 1609 who arrived in 1658. There were Bennetts in both Isle of Wight/Southampton counties and Westmoreland county. I've found Redman's in both areas too. However I've only found Marrs and Kesters in the Northern Neck of VA in the 18th century. Since these families seemed to have migrated together, I am seeking other Drake descendants from the Northern Neck counties to see if their DNA matches my ancestor John Drake 1750 VA-1825 KY (Nelson co) Please let me know if you stumble on other Drakes, as their DNA may help geographically place your Bennett ancestors and others.
