Swad was my paternal grandfather. My father, Ernest Eugene Swad, was the third son of Albert and Lela. As of this writitng, Ernest and Wilmer Lee "Bill" Swad are the only two surviving children of Albert and Lela. Ernest will be 87 years old on 2-19-2011 and lives in Gaffney, South Carolina. Bill, the youngest of the Swad boys, splits his time between Columbus, OH and Florida. You can find pictures of Albert, Lela and the boys and their sister Betty in a book entitled "Davis and Cropley Heritage with the Life of William T. Cropley, AKA Wilmer Lee Davis" authored by Marilyn Cropley. 1. [OHIO] Dorothy MILLER to Cleveland from Liverpool in 1812
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: baggy44 Surnames: MILLER Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.unknown/13486/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Dorothy Miller was born in 1887 in Liverpool England to William Miller and Elizabeth Margaret Thomas (known as Eliza). Her siblings were: Frederick Charles Miller, born Liverpool 1 Jan 1892; Olga Theresa Miller, born 11 Jan 1894 in Liverpool, died 22 Nov 1965 in New Jersey; Margaret Ellen Miller, born 6 April 1906 in Liverpool, died 19 April 1972 in Liverpool; and Thomas Henry Miller, born 1899 in Liverpool. Dorothy sailed to New York from Liverpool on SS Carmania, arriving 5 September 1912. On the manifest she said she was going to Cleveland, but she moved on to Los Angeles. Family lore says:she married soon after arrival but didn't stay with her husband very long; she hated children; and she didn't have any. I don't know who she married; I don't know whether she divorced him; and, if she did, I don't know whether she kept his name -- but I'd still like to find her marriage and death dates. I know she was still alive in 1970, and living in Los Angeles. Sounds hopeless and it probably is -- but has anyone heard of this woman?
