In the 1850 Huron Co., OH census Norwich TWP are Christopher age 53 & Matrin U/V. Post age 25, both born NY. In 1880 Richmod Twp., Huron Co., OH are several other Posts :William & George. both in their 40's born in OH parents born NY. Both times they live near my Courtright family. Hi Cindy, Another listing in that same book, A Military Record of Huron County, page 25 lists : POST, Allen, enlisted in Huron County, August 17, 1861, Co.D., 32d O.V.I.; captured at Harpers Ferry and at Atlanta; held 2 months in Andersonville; discharged at East Point, Ga., Oct 1861. On page 46, there is an index of Civil War and some Spanixh American War veteran discharges, filed at the Recorder's Office, Huron County, OH. For the name POST, there are 140 listings. (too bad the rest of this info is not in this book).
