My Grandfathers name was HUBBELL REED, he had a brother named SHERMAN REED. I've recently found some information at LDS that both HUBBELL and SHERMAN may have been my ancestors Surnames and that they might have been from Monrieville, Huron Co. OH. I believe Harriet Hubbell and Joseph Reed were Argalus' parents. I sure could use some help, and would be grateful for it. The following are the highlights on this page regarding Daniel SHERMAN: a. Daniel SHERMAN, (son of Taylor SHERMAN and uncle to General William Tecumseh SHERMAN of the Civil War), along with two others, were the first white settlers of the township, arriving in 1812 from Norwalk, Connecticut. b. Daniel SHERMAN married Abby GUTHRIE in 1813. He lived in Sherman Township until 1825. Mrs. Abby SHERMAN died in 1821. c. In 1824, Daniel SHERMAN married Laura HUBBELL. Daniel and Laura moved to Ridgefield Township in 1825. Laura (HUBBELL) SHERMAN died Dec. 31, 1876. d. The children of Daniel SHERMAN were: Betsey, born 5 Nov 1814, married C.B. Hall, and is now deceased; William S., born 20 Jan 1817, moved to Mansfield where he died 24 Sep 1876; George Edwin, born 1819, died 6 Jul 1831; Harriet E., born 24 Apr 1825, married Sydney D. Fish; and Charles W., born 1827, died 1836.
