    2. Sorry if the Goldenrod paper tip didn't make sense. Cover the reading, screen, area. That is the area that the film shows up on. The area where you read the film. The area under the lense. Think of the reader as a big box, you put the paper on the inside bottom side. I'm sorry if I'm not making any sense, but if you have ever read a microfilm, you only have one area where you can read from, and that is where you put the paper. Nancy

    3. Hi Nancy, This is getting darn right silly. I wonder if we have different kinds of readers out here in the "West". I'll tell you what we have, and perhaps you can tell me where to put it, LOL, If I put the paper over where I read what's on the film, I would be covering up the screen. OK, this is the description of what our libraries have. There is a large box, that resembles a 14" square TV or Monitor. Under that is a contraption that has a place to put the reel with the film on it, and it threads from left to right, over some rollers, under a little glass plate which under the plate is a glass plate that is inlaid into the bottom of this contraption, through that plate the light shines up to go through the film, and into this big box which is then reflected onto this screen. The film continues over some rollers on the right side, and onto the empty reel. If I put this paper over the glass that has the light shining through, how is the image going to go through it? __________ I I I screen I I_________ I I I reel -> O~~~\o__film__o/~~~O<take up reel / \ ________/___table____\______ Hope this holds together, it's the best I can do for an example. The O on the left is the film, strung to the right, under the o roller, across the glass plate and under the other glass plate, back over the o roller onto the O take up reel. The things on the film show up on the screen above. I just have a idea we don't have the same kind of readers. Thanks for all your input though. I think I'm going to fall off my chair with laughter, it's like someone talking about how to prepare pancakes and the other person thinks your making waffles, they wonder where the holes are. Have a good one. Myrna

    3. Genealogical supply stores have see-thru plastic sheets that are tinted yellow or blue and can just be put in front of the screen to enhance your copy. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Myrna Casey" <MYBILL@email.msn.com> To: <OHHURON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, August 21, 2000 8:49 AM Subject: Re: [OHHURON-L] Re: OHHURON-D Digest V00 #194 > Hi Nancy, > > This is getting darn right silly. 3. Myrna and Nancy, I, too, believe you are taliking about two different models of viewers. Viewer A being one that projects the image down on a white surface (onto which you can put the goldenrod colored paper and unlikely to have photocopy capabilities). Viewer B has a screen that the image is projected through (this type sometimes has photocopy capabilities). This type of reader can be seen at: www.eyecom.com Rebecca Myrna Casey wrote: > Hi Nancy, > > This is getting darn right silly.
