Got the information. Where do I write to get this information? Most Sincerely Ann annieb437@yahoo.com >> HI Ann, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "this information." The only thing missing from the online Index to the 1845 plat book is the actual location of the person's property, in relation to the property of others, and the amount of acreage he owns. Both pieces of information can be found on the map page that the last column in the online Index refers to. The Norwalk Public Library, 46 West Main St., Norwalk, OH 44857, holds a copy of the Huron County, Ohio Plat Book of 1845. You could write them to see if they could make a copy of the relevant plat book page(s) for you. If they can, there would probably be a charge for this. You might also chck with your local library for the possibility of requesting an interlibrary loan from another library. The County Recorder, Huron County Courthouse, 2 East Main St., Norwalk, OH 44857, holds land deeds, mortgage records, and plat records from 1808 to the present. If this is the level of detail you're interested in, then it might be worth your while to consider using a research volunteer living in the Norwalk area to try to dig it out for you. Information on this latter service (research done for you), as well as the above information, can be found on the HCC/OGS home page (www.rootsweb.com/~ohhuron). Regards, Ken Shute, in MD.
