Sharon, I can provide some informatoin on the Ohio 25th Volunteer Infantry division from a book written by my Great Grandfather, Edward C Culp. The book is rather dry reading, but lists people in the various companys and described some of the action the group saw. Most of the group apparently came from the Norwalk area and he was in that division with ranks from private to Colonal. After the war, he also served as Sheriff of Huron county about 1870. Tom, Do you by chance have any information about Henry Opfer from Ohio 55th that mustered (?sp) out of Norwalk? He is my gggrandfather. Any info will be appreciated.
