Maureen >> Hi Maureen, There is a reference to Alexander Porter and the two terms he served a s mayor of New London Village in our History of the Fire Lands by W.W. Williams, but nothing I could find regarding the other public offices he held, in any of our Huron County, Ohio publications. Here is the Fire Lands reference: Page 372. Village of New London. Mentions Alexander Porter was elected mayor in 1858 and 1859, then again in 1865 and 1866. Also on page 372: "The Gregory House, and what is known as the Union Block, on the northeast corner of Rochester and Clarksfield streets, was erected by C.W. Gregory, A. Porter, A. I don't know if this is the same Louisa Porter, but in our Huron County, Ohio Marriages by Scheuer Publications, I find the following marriage (remarriage???): Louisa Porter m.
