    3. Hello and greetings from Rochester New York. I am originally from Sandusky and Hancock County's OH Surnames that are in my family background being. Robbins, Miller, Fisher, Snider, Norton and Ward. I have been searching all over in Maine for more information regarding my GG Grandparents. Abigail J.Norton and Danial B. Ward. The 1850 US census has them living in Dresden Maine. My G Grandfather Zachariah Ward (their Son)is listed as being 10 years old in 1850. Zachariah's military service record lists him as enlisting with 20th Maine in Woolwitch Maine Aug 6th 1862 and upon being discharged, having moved to Wood County OH Talk about a small world. I signed up at the local high school here in Rochester for a evening genealogy course. The instructor indicated that he was originally from Norwalk Ohio. When I mentioned my Ohio Ward connection he said he remembers that there were a host of Wards in Huron County. When I got home, I remembered that previous information supplied by BGSU, said that my Grandfather Lewis Adam Ward was born in Norwalk Ohio. As I always wondered why Zachariah came to Ohio after the Civil War, and remembering that Lewis Adam Ward (Zachariah's Son) was born in Norwalk (Huron County).I went to the Huron County Genealogy page on the net.Huron County has an excellent page. They have even cataloged everyone buried in the county. After scrolling through a lot of names, Lo and Behold, there was Abigail Jones (Norton) Ward and Danial Brown Ward originally from Maine. There being so many Wards listed, now I wonder if perhaps more Wards from Maine came to Ohio during the civil war. Has anybody further information regarding the Wards from Huron County ? How do I determine what cemetery's to look for, that I might locate their graves ? I have much information on this Ward line , that I would be glad to share. Richard Robbins Rochester, NY

BUT......there are two columns of WARDs listed in index.....can't possibly do all of them. If you have a couple of first names, then I can go ahead and look them up for you. Also, another consideration........if you have a lot of people in Huron Co. you might want to invest in the cemetery book. It's the best one I've ever seen! Completely indexed and so are the cemeteries. A great buy!!! Go to Huron Web page and you can find it there.........Nancy > > > ==== OHHURON Mailing List ==== > Enjoy your stay in Huron County, OH > If you feel you must unsubscribe from the list mode > send the word 'unsubscribe' to OHHURON-L-request@rootsweb.com >
