Hello All, I am new to the list, and am hoping that someone can help me resolve a puzzle that I have in regard to the maiden name of a woman buried in the Steuben Cemetery in Greenfield Township. >From the Cemetery Inscriptions she is listed on p. 137 as "MATHERS, Margaret TRIMMER w/o James Mathers, b. 1 Mar 1751 d.31 Dec 1826. However, on a picture (through the kindness of Norma Miller) of this gravestone the inscription does not include the name Trimmer. Of course, this is a "little" disappointing... Is there anyone there in Huron County (or elsewhere!) who might have an idea how that name would appear in the index and not on the stone? Did someone write it into the original transcription of the stones? Was there once a member who was descended from Margaret who assisted in collecting the inscriptions?
