Is there any reference to Howe, Prindle, Dun(n)ing, or Rowlson in the Fire Lands Grant. These families came from New Haven, CT. Thanks in advance, Errol and Valerie Cross >> Hello Crosses, In our History of the Fire Lands, by W.W. Williams, 1879, there is a "List of Original (Connecticut) Sufferers Classified by Town With The Amount of Each Individual Loss." This list appears on pages 16-20. Following are those having the same surnames you are interested in, though not all resided in New Haven, CT. Read name of Sufferer, name of Connecticut town, and amount of loss in pounds/shillings/pence. Ebenezer HOWE, Greenwich, 13/12/4. Isaac HOWE, Greenwich, 83/19/7. Hannah HOWE, New Haven & East Haven, 13/3/6. Sarah HOWE, New Haven & East Haven, 14/7/1. Charles PRINDLE, New Haven & East Haven, 47/4/6. Elizabeth DUNNING, Norwalk, 7/1/4. Richard DUNNING, Norwalk, 26/10/6. Jeremiah DUNNING, Danbury, 2/2/0. In the Index to Williams' History of the Fire Lands, including the above names, there are 15 HOWEs, three PRINDLEs, four DUNNINGs, but no ROWLSONs. If you want me to do a full look up on any specific forebear that lived in Huron County, I'll be happy to do so. But since I have to search through about 30 Huron County, Ohio publications, I usually limit my look up to just one name at a time per request. Regards, Ken Shute, in MD (kwsroots@aol.com).
