I am researching Philip Beal and his wife Eva Smith Beal and their oldest daughter, Eva Beal Decker spouse of Christopher Decker. She was born in 1800 in Germany and died April 8, 1913 and I understand she is buried in Vermillion. Do you have her listed in you cemetery book? I would like to know the place in Germany where she was born. He fathers citizenship just sys Prussia and her mother's as Germany. I know they came to the US in 1831 and they bought land in Lorain County in 1832. However, some inscriptions for more than one cemetery within a given township may appear on the same page. For example: within Richmond twp, names for Richmond Twp Cemetery and Moore-Fackler Cemetery appear on page 735. Names for Moore-Fackler Cemetery, the Mennonite Cemetery, and Higley Farms Cemetery appear on page 736. On the Huron County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society (HCC/OGS) web site (www.rootsweb.com/~ohhuron), the Probate Court, Huron County, OH Courthouse, 2 East Main St., Norwalk, OH 44857 is shown as holding marriage records from 1815 to the present. Copies of marriage records from 1899 to the present are available at $1.00 each, uncertified, or $3.00 each, certified. You might try contacting the Probate Court to see what the status might be for obtaining copies of those pre-1899 marriage records I gave for Asa Carpenter, citing book and page number. There are also volunteers living in the Norwalk area who will undertake research at the Courthouse to try to answer questions such as this. The Christian Church Cemetery which I gave as the cemetery in which Asa Carpenter was buried is also known as the Houfstater Cemetery. The introduction on page 813 of the Cemetery Inscriptions book to the Christian Church Cemetry states: "The Christian Church Cemetery, or Houfstater Cemetery, is located in Sect. 4, Twp 1, Range 22 on the north side of Silliman Rd. in Ripley Twp just a mile south of Delphi...." For more information on these and other subjects involving Huron County, Ohio, go to the HCC/OGS web site mentioned above. Regarding marriage records, go to the link "Courthouse" under "Courthouse, Health Depts., and Libraries." For help in local research, go to the link "Local Researchers" under "Personal Research Help." For the location of cemeteries in each township, go to the link "Pioneers, History, and Maps", then click on "Detailed township maps." Click on the square for Ripley Twp to see the cemeteries and their locations for that township. The Christian Church Cemetery, or Houfstater Cemetery, is shown as item 1 on the map, section 4. For an index to the inscriptions contained in the Huron County, Ohio Cemetery Inscriptions book, click on "Archives" then click on "Cemeteries." Finally, click on the category containing the surname of interest, e.g. "C-D" for Carpenter. Scroll to the list of Carpenter names and you will find "Asa Carpenter" appearing (3 times) on page 813 of the Inscriptions book.
