    3. Hello, One of you guys asked Doug to name the person he's referring to. It's me. But before I see any more character assasination let me explain the situation to all of you. First of all, in regards to my crap-tacular website I don't see what the big deal is. This is a crappy little website I put together myself but if anyone were to examine the website further you'd relaize I have my sources cited. Doug you didn't do any of the research so how can you copyright it? All I got from you that was YOUR research was a book "Germans to America" which lists Matthias and an obit. The info in these I already had! Mary Carabin did the research for the naturalization record I have and I have several obits, some done by Mary and I believe I found one off of the RB Hayes library site. In regards to the researcher as God as my witness I never agreed to this man because there was no way in heck I'd be able to afford him. Doug knows that. The man mistakened Doug's intentions and went ahead and did the research anyways. He jumped the gun and paid $250 even though the researcher told him it was optional. I told him that I would try to solicit some contributions from my relatives and I sincerely thought they'd be willing to help. I thought I made this clear to Doug, or at least I tried. It turns out none of my relatives (except Roger Brunn) wanted to contribute. So shortchanged, I told Doug that I would try to contribute 100 of the 150 dollars but it would be a while. He told me never mind I dont need to pay him anything. So... I still felt bad and in December when I had money from the sale of my books, I wanted to start paying into the remaining $75 (Roger paid $25) but he never returned my email in which I asked him for his address. There I said my side of the story it was never in my intentions to "rip him off" but it also was never in my intentions to hire a researcher for $150 much less $250. --Andrew

    3. To Andrew Waber, Thank you Sir, it is always nice to see the "rest of the story" as a famous radio and television personality would say. It's too bad it has led to a public forum instead of a resolution on the more private side. Take care and thanks for the insight. 3. Dear Culprit, you need to recognize a compliment when it was given. Must be indeed a grand site, next to what the observer could do anyway. So just say thank you! When I first started I have posted erroneous info given by a cousin, not to deceive, but in a dumb attempt to find the flaws. It worked. Bad of me,? Hindsite being 20/20 Yes. But I thought at the time I could correct it by deletion, WRONG! The posting has a horrible life of it's own. However, I do get bits and pieces from ticked off outland relatives berating me for accepting anything but perfection "before" I "know the truth". The truth is except for a very few people, the truth is supposition and accepting the fragments. All my relatives would "whoop" to know their lives as, farmers, workers, and a few professionals would be of interest to anyone and delighted at the same time. When I started this I thought I knew my family, who they were, what they were, etc. Finding they were pioneers and Indians, civil war participants (both sides), courtesans and wives, bounders and upstanding men has given me a deep sense of who I am. It also explained the circles in my life. The same people keep showing up a few generations down the line. Recently I got a picture of my gggrandmother and her youngest daughter and son-in-law. The picture of the man was stunning. He could have be a duplicate of my own brother-in-law. More checking found that he is, he was his ggggrandfather. Round and round we go. Researching, pioneers Samuel Post, origin New York, wife Manerva (Minerva) Butler Post, origin, Mass., Allen Post, Rebecca Kanvel Post, Huron Ohio, if any relatives want to correct me, welcome! If you need money, sorry! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew Waber" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, February 04, 2004 7:50 PM Subject: [OHHURON-L] I am the culprit > > Hello, > > One of you guys asked Doug to name the person he's referring to.
