Hi Gary I have BOWER/BAUER ancestors in Huron Co OH. My GGGrandmother was Clarissa BOWERS, her father was Silas BAUER/BOWERS, and she had a brother also named Silas as well as other siblings whose names have escaped me so far. The BOWERS in my family ended when Clarissa married Rufus LOVE in Huron Co in 1821. Rufus and Clarissa were in Huron thru the 1840 census, when they disappeared from the face of the earth! I suspect there may be a bunch of folks between your mother and my Clarissa, if there is a connection at all. That's the part that's called "research." I would start by subscribing to the BAUER and BOWERS mailing lists.
