The Black River Genealogists will host The Lorain County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society at their annual joint meeting on Thursday, October 2, 2003 at the French Creek Nature Center, 4530 Colorado Avenue (Rt. 611), Sheffield, Ohio. At 6:30 PM. Program: "Life in Early Lorain County" In celebration of the Ohio Bicentennial, special guest Betty Lou Higgins, of Eden Valley Enterprises, will portray Phoebe Holford Farr, an early pioneer who arrived in 1818 at the age of six in what would later become Lorain County. The program story is based in part on Pheobe Farr's autobiography describing her life in Lorain County where she raised her ten children and lived out her life until her death in 1901. Everyone with an interest in genealogy and history is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.
