I have an unusual request to make. A reunion for descendants and relatives of the veterans who served with the 24th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment, 1861-1864, will be held in Columbus, Ohio, Friday October 20, and Saturday October 21, 2000. A buffet banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m., on Friday evening, October 20, with an overview history of the 24th O.V.I. On Saturday, October 21, chartered bus transportation will drive reunion members to various places in Columbus, which all 24th O.V.I. veterans would have recognized during their war service. (An advance registration deposit per person is required to guarantee seating for the buffet banquet and chartered bus transportation.) Counties supplying a major portion of volunteers for the 24th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment include: Adams, Columbiana, Coshocton, Cuyahoga, Erie, Highland, Huron, Montgomery, Muskingum, and Trumbull. For anyone who is interested in this reunion, please contact John Rutherford at the below email address: ovi24th@juno.com 24th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment website: http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/Senate/1861 Thanks. Therefore, I would like to request a few lookups. I do know of a marriage of Ashbel B. Johnson to Maria R. Lyon on September 1st, 1841 in Huron County. I wondered if the book gives any more information on this couple. Ashbel probably remarried to a certain Abigail, who seems to be his wife in the 1850 census, then living in Fitchville township. Apparently, Ashbel's parents, Allen (59 years) and Elizabeth (56 years) Johnson are living with them in the same house, as is a certain 17 year old Lucien Mead, whose relationship to the Johnsons is yet unknown.
